Flying the Colors

There's no reason why we can't be both patriotic and Francophilic (that's not a disease, just in case you were wondering). So here's our attempt at an abstract American flag photo collage.







I never was very good at collage. It would have been so much easier to just save this post for today. Oh well - Happy 4th of July!

Propreté de Paris on Parade

On our way to the May Day festivities, we noticed five "Propreté de Paris" vehicles all lined up in a pretty, green row.

And at the end of the row, all the drivers, waiting to do their thing.

They were preparing to clean up just as soon as tens of thousands of protesters/revelers vacated the Place de la République. I hope all those critics of the government appreciated that, as usual, the government was cleaning up their mess.

Does anyone else get the impression that the same manufacturer provides Paris with its public sanitation and fire vehicles?

Paradise Lost

A week-long Caribbean cruise with the fam: gorgeous weather, copious amounts of food, relaxation central. We're so relaxed we can't even be bothered to fully describe the experience in words. Here's hoping that some pictures do the trick.
