Because of Fantômette, Panda sprints down the stairs every time we go for a walk, anticipating the opportunity to catch a glimpse of this strange creature. At the end of the walk, as we're about to reenter the courtyard, she pulls and pulls as hard as she can, and every once in a while she's rewarded with the sight of Fantômette scampering across the concrete in search of shelter.
In addition to torturing Panda, Fantômette likes scooters and basking in the sun.
He's nothing but friendly to us, but boy oh boy does he hate Panda, who only wants to be friends. Poor Panda.

We share a small hallway with a couple that has two (enormous) cats. From time to time, they release one of the cats into the hallway, where it sits and observes said hallway. Every once in a while, I take Bailey out to go for a walk and a cat is right there. Haven't given him the chance to find out whether they could be best friends - yet. The cat corner is full of excellent smells, according to Bailey.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was visiting you guys, Fantômette was a female cat and she was named Fantometre. (You may remember that I was the one who suggested that maybe her name was actually Fantômette.) Why has your story changed? Did you talk to the owner?
ReplyDeleteIndeed Fantômette is a female. Its name comes from a character of "la bibliothèque rose" (books meant for children. Girls mostly). La "bibliothèque verte" has been created for kids. Hey ! That was another time : Pink for girls and green for guys. Françoise Dupont has a secret ID, no super power and fights the evil "masque d'argent (silver mask). You have Batman, the Dark Night, Gotham vigilante. We have fantômette super hero of Framboisy (France).

ReplyDeleteAccording to Héloïse la "Bibliothèque Rose" was for the youngest (be it boys or girls). La "bibliothèque verte" has stopped being meant for boys at the end of WW2. It then became a good choice for children until pre teens.
