On Thursday afternoon, we celebrated the gorgeous weather we've been having by enjoying our first "summer" picnic.
Becky, Gladis, and Maggie did some clutch last-minute shopping at the local food boutiques, I did the heavy lifting, and Panda did her best not to jump on our picnic blanket and devour everything. As we ate, we enjoyed the fantastic people-watching that the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont always offers when the weather is nice: sunbathers, little kids with their parents, teens necking, and of course other picnickers.
On the menu: baguette, brie with a peppercorn crust, a boule (ball) of goat cheese, comté (a hard cheese), rosetta sausage, duck rillettes, melon, carrots, apples, chocolate, and a chilled bottle of rosé. After we had mostly finished eating, Rachel, Adam, and two of their jet-lagged friends from the States showed up to hang out for a bit. It felt like a real Parisian picnic! With all non-Parisians. Oh well.
